A tense morning unfolded in Ranchi near Balsiring, Tupudana OP, as law enforcement officers engaged in a gun battle with operatives of the dreaded Sujit Sinha criminal syndicate. The confrontation resulted in the capture of two wanted criminals and the injury of one. Police have also confiscated three sophisticated firearms, signaling a major disruption for the gang.
Authorities believe this incident is directly linked to recent acts of intimidation, specifically the firing incident at Monu Rai’s residence in Doranda. The two individuals apprehended, along with their wounded accomplice, allegedly carried out the attack under direct orders from Sujit Sinha. Rural SP Praveen Pushkar confirmed the police’s decisive action, emphasizing the recovery of illegal weapons and assuring continued efforts to dismantle the criminal network.
The operation stemmed from crucial intelligence shared with SSP Rakesh Ranjan concerning the gang’s activities. This led to a swift mobilization of resources, spearheaded by the Rural SP and DSP Hatia, involving multiple police units and stringent surveillance measures across the city. A targeted bike checkpoint proved instrumental.
During this checkpoint, officers apprehended a motorcyclist, later identified as Sonu, a known associate of the Sujit Sinha gang. Under pressure, Sonu divulged the location of his accomplices, who were reportedly gathering near Balsiring hill. Acting swiftly on this information, police converged on the location. The criminals responded with gunfire, triggering a brief but intense exchange. Aftab was hit by a police bullet, and he, along with another accomplice, was apprehended. Both arrested criminals are now assisting police with their ongoing investigation. SSP Rakesh Ranjan was briefed on the successful operation at the scene.
