
A significant attempt to steal copper cables from the Tata Steel Works was foiled due to the alertness of the company’s security department. Four young men were apprehended by security personnel and handed over to the police. The accused are currently in police custody facing legal charges. According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 1 AM on Saturday. During their patrol, security guards discovered the four individuals attempting to transport a large quantity of copper cable in heavy sacks. The seized copper weighed 690 kg, with an estimated market price of INR 1.97 lakhs. The arrested individuals, all from the Garib Nawaz Colony and Gaushnagar areas of Mango, have been identified by name and age. Security personnel stated that their suspicions prompted them to quickly secure the area, catching the suspects in the act as they tried to escape with the cables. The security team confiscated the cables and detained the perpetrators. Bistupur police responded swiftly to the scene to handle the legal formalities. The proactive measures taken by the security department effectively prevented a substantial theft within the industrial complex.
