
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall across several districts in Jharkhand. The alert signifies that significant rainfall is anticipated today. While Ranchi is expected to experience light showers, no specific alert has been issued for the capital city. The districts under the yellow alert are Garhwa, Chatra, Palamu, Latehar, Deoghar, Giridih, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Dumka, Godda, Sahibganj, and Pakur. Along with heavy rainfall, strong winds and lightning are also expected in certain areas. The weather department indicates that a cyclone in Bengal and Bihar is the cause, predicting heavy rainfall in these regions within the next 24 hours. Furthermore, rainfall is anticipated in Ranchi on August 8. Rainfall measurements in the last 24 hours include: Godda (Pathargama) – 170.2 mm, Pakur – 81.4 mm, Dumka – 35.3 mm, Latehar – 54 mm, Medininagar – 10 mm, Bokaro – 3 mm, and Ranchi – 1 mm.
