Tragedy struck in the Palamu district of Jharkhand when a father and son died after entering a well. The event unfolded when a household ‘lota’ fell into the well at the home of Jagat Rajwar (60). His son, Munna Rajwar (32), went down to retrieve the vessel. When the son did not reappear, the father followed. Both men were later found dead inside the well. The local authorities were notified and responded to the scene. After a challenging operation, they recovered the bodies. Preliminary investigations suggest the victims died from asphyxiation due to a lack of oxygen in the well. A post-mortem examination has been ordered to confirm the cause of death. The community is in shock, and the family is in mourning.
