In a significant operation, security forces in West Singhbhum district successfully neutralized a threat posed by Naxalites. Two IEDs and five bunkers were destroyed during a joint operation conducted in the dense forests and mountainous terrain of the Chota Nagpur area. The operation, involving the police, Cobra 209 Battalion, CRPF, and Jharkhand Jaguar, also led to the seizure of a substantial amount of explosive materials and related items.
The IEDs were safely defused by a bomb disposal team at the site. The operation was initiated on July 8th following intelligence reports of planned destructive activities by top CPI (Maoist) leaders in the Saranda and Kolhan regions. The search operation, which concluded on July 11th, uncovered the hidden IEDs and bunkers. Police sources confirmed that the IEDs were intended to be used against security forces.
The police have stated that the operation will continue to eliminate Naxalite presence from the Saranda and Kolhan regions. Security measures have been heightened in the area, and anti-Naxal operations are being intensified to maintain peace and security. Local authorities have reassured residents of their safety and vowed to prevent any acts of violence.
