
On World Tribal Day, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid tribute to his late father, Shibu Soren, and committed to continuing his legacy. He also honored the valiant ancestors of the tribal community.
Chief Minister Soren wrote on the social media platform X to mark the occasion of World Tribal Day. He remembered his guide, guru, and Baba, stating that their struggles, ideas, and ideals will forever inspire him. He stated his father was not only a personal figure but also represented the spirit of Jharkhand, a symbol of resistance, and a protector of natural resources.
Soren highlighted that the tribal community has shown humanity how to live a fulfilling life by harmonizing with nature. He noted the tribal way of life is intrinsically linked to nature. He pointed out that tribal communities have been marginalized for centuries, and his father dedicated his life to change this.
He stated that the World Tribal Day celebrations across the state were dear to his father, as they united tribal civilization and culture and gave tribal talent a global platform.
The Chief Minister noted that the world is celebrating World Tribal Day and expressed respect to Baba Dishom Guru and all the brave ancestors who fought for and protected tribal identity, culture, civilization, and rights. He resolved to continue their work. He concluded with the slogans of “Jai Johar, Jai Adivasiyat, Jai Jharkhand.”
Chief Minister Soren also highlighted the importance of strong villages in building a strong state and prosperous country.
In line with local customs, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family participated in traditional rituals on the fifth day of the traditional Shradh Karma of his father, the late Shibu Soren.
