
At the Kargil Vijay Diwas commemoration, General Upendra Dwivedi discussed Operation Sindoor as a firm response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. The operation, which took place on May 6 and 7, aimed at neutralizing terrorist elements operating from across the border. Dwivedi stressed that the operation was planned with precision to minimize civilian casualties and send a clear message that those aiding cross-border terrorism will be held accountable. He also revealed the formation of ‘Rudra’ brigades, integrated combat units intended to enhance coordination and battlefield readiness. The Army Chief paid tribute to the Kargil war heroes, launching projects to honor their sacrifices and reinforce the Army’s commitment to national security and development in border areas.
