Jammu and Kashmir has become the focal point of an unprecedented anti-terrorism campaign, hailed as the most significant of the decade. Security forces are conducting coordinated raids across over 60 areas, encompassing more than 100 locations identified with militant activities and their local support networks. The operation is specifically targeting individuals and infrastructure believed to be under the influence of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK)-based handlers. A major focus is on disrupting the financial and logistical backbone of these groups, as well as countering their propaganda efforts aimed at radicalizing youth. Ganderbal district has been a key area, with extensive searches conducted on numerous suspected individuals. Similar operations are underway in Srinagar, Kulgam, Shopian, Budgam, and Kupwara, supported by intelligence agencies. The crackdown extends to correctional facilities, with surprise inspections in Srinagar and Kupwara prisons to identify and neutralize any terror-related communication channels. This comprehensive strategy aims to dismantle militant organizations from their roots, including overground workers and sympathizers, reinforcing India’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region. Successes along the Line of Control also indicate a multi-faceted approach to securing the border.
