Amidst the Iran-Israel conflict, the first group of Kashmiri students stranded in Iran returned home as part of Operation Sindhu. A total of 110 Indian students, including 94 Kashmiri students, were successfully evacuated. However, the homecoming was marked by criticism of the Jammu and Kashmir government’s travel arrangements. Students expressed frustration with the lack of direct flights and the condition of the SRTC buses. The Ministry of External Affairs and Prime Minister’s Office received appreciation for their efforts. The Jammu and Kashmir Student Union highlighted the issues with transportation via social media. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah apologized and announced plans for better transportation options after facing public pressure.
