In a dramatic turn of events in Ladakh, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju participated in the rescue of two people after a vehicle accident. The vehicle plunged into a river, an incident that occurred directly ahead of his convoy near Drass. Rijiju documented the event on his official βXβ handle, noting the fortunate timing of the rescue. “Before reaching Drass in Ladakh, a vehicle fell into the river right in front of our convoy. Fortunately, we were on time and both individuals survived,” he reported. Along with the rescue update, Rijiju reflected on his previous day’s experience in Sonmarg, Jammu and Kashmir. He thanked the district administrations of Ganderbal and Kargil, as well as his guide, Mohammad Sidiq Mir, for the welcoming reception and memorable experiences. Rijiju further stated, βOn the way to Kargil, I had a memorable moment at Sonmarg. Grateful to both administrations of Ganderbal and Kargil. Thanks to senior guide Mohammad Sidiq Mir and other friends of Sonmarg for the wonderful company! Real development is happening now. Common people of Kashmir are great hosts & they are dead against the violence perpetrated by the enemies.β Separately, Rijiju addressed the comments made by Syeda Hameed, a former member of the Planning Commission, concerning the potential for Bangladeshis to live in India. He condemned her remarks, accusing her of misusing humanitarian principles, and declared that she should not support illegal immigration.
