A landslide, caused by intense rainfall, has obstructed the Rudraprayag-Badrinath route, leading to ongoing restoration work. A passenger, Dilpreet, recounted being stranded for four hours while traveling to Rishikesh. He detailed the road being blocked by rocks and debris. Cranes are on-site working to remove the obstructions and reopen the route. This situation follows a cloudburst that happened near Mukh village, close to Nandprayag Ghat in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on July 8. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reported that no fatalities have been recorded. An SDRF team has been sent to evaluate the situation. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had previously issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for the following four days. Earlier, the Kedarnath Dham Yatra in Rudraprayag district had to be briefly suspended due to a landslide that damaged the pedestrian path near Chhodi Gadhere, about one kilometre ahead of Gaurikund.
