Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat made history with his visit to Lolab Valley, near the Line of Control (LOC), marking the first time a JK police chief has toured the area, which has been affected by terrorism. The visit involved an operational assessment of anti-terrorist activities and an evaluation of the forces’ readiness. DGP Prabhat interacted with JK Police’s SOG and CRPF personnel at the SOG Camp in Lolab, acknowledging their efforts in the difficult terrain. The DGP called for persistent counter-insurgency efforts, targeting Pakistani terrorists seeking to infiltrate and destabilize the Kashmir Valley. The visit aimed to uplift local police morale and communicate a firm stance against terror and violence. The visit was praised by Lolab Valley residents, who saw it as a positive step toward building trust and inclusion in the area. This engagement is expected to play a vital role in redefining Kashmir’s security strategy, with an emphasis on combining security vigilance with community involvement. Ongoing counter-terror operations are taking place across several districts in the Jammu region, using local intelligence and high-tech surveillance to disrupt terrorist activities and cut off infiltration routes.
