KC Veerendra, the MLA from Karnataka’s Chitradurga constituency, was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Gangtok on Saturday. The arrest is linked to an inquiry into illicit online and offline betting activities. The ED’s investigation led to the seizure of approximately Rs 12 crore in cash, including approximately one crore in foreign currency. Furthermore, the authorities seized gold jewelry valued at Rs 6 crore, around 10 kilograms of silver, and four vehicles. These seizures were conducted under the PMLA, 2002.
