
Authorities have made a significant breakthrough in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case with the arrest of Sonam Raghuvanshi by the Gazipur police. Sonam reportedly contacted her brother to inform him of her condition. She was located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, a couple of hours before being taken into custody. The Indore police are on their way to Gazipur to aid in the arrest. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma acknowledged the success in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case and praised the state police’s work. He announced the arrest of three suspects and mentioned that the operation continues to locate one more. On X, CM Sangma wrote, “Within 7 days a major breakthrough has been achieved by the #meghalayapolice in the Raja murder case … 3 assailants who are from Madhya Pradesh have been arrested, female has surrendered and operation still on to catch 1 more assailant .. well done #meghalayapolice.” Meanwhile, DGP I Nongrang confirmed that four people, including Raja’s wife, have been apprehended in connection with the murder in Meghalaya. The investigation indicates that Sonam allegedly hired individuals to kill her husband while they were on their honeymoon.
