The Parliament’s Monsoon Session of 2025, concluding on August 21, is experiencing repeated disruptions in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. These disruptions are a result of protests from opposition members concerning the Bihar caste survey (SIR). The INDIA bloc members chose to boycott Monday’s session and instead, marched to the Election Commission office to protest alleged “vote rigging.” This led to the detention of Rahul Gandhi and other opposition MPs by the Delhi Police. The Lok Sabha passed the National Sports Governance Bill and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill on Monday. The focus now shifts to the Rajya Sabha, where these bills are slated for introduction, and the NDA is optimistic about their successful passage.
