
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall across numerous states in India. The monsoon’s intensity is expected to increase in the coming days, according to the department. Heavy rainfall is expected in Northwest, Central, East and Northeast India, particularly for the next seven days.
Throughout the week, Northwest India is likely to experience light to moderate rain, frequently accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds blowing at 30–40 kmph.
From July 1 to July 4, heavy rains are expected in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha in East and Central India. The Vidarbha region is also likely to see heavy rain on July 1 and 2. Furthermore, rainfall may intensify in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on June 28, and between July 1 and 2.
Gangetic-West Bengal is expected to receive heavy rainfall until July 1, while Bihar may experience similar conditions between July 1 and 4.
