Mumbai is struggling to cope with an unprecedented deluge of rain, causing extensive flooding and major disruptions. The city’s infrastructure is overwhelmed, with severe traffic and train delays affecting citizens. The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, has confirmed that the situation has led to fatalities and property damage. SDRF and NDRF units are actively assisting in impacted zones. The IMD’s warnings of intense rainfall proved accurate as the city experienced extreme weather conditions. A cloudburst in Mukhed, Nanded district, contributed to the severity of the disaster. The Indian Army has been deployed to Mukhed to aid residents. The Marathwada region, in particular, has reported multiple deaths attributed to the intense rainfall.
