A dispute in Mundaka village, Haryana, over a vehicle parking issue ignited communal violence on Tuesday. The confrontation began with a disagreement between two individuals, escalating into a wider conflict between communities. The altercation began when a vehicle parked on the road by Isra’s son led to an argument. Samey Singh, a local resident, asked that the vehicle be moved, which led to an alleged bottle attack. The situation quickly escalated, with supporters from both sides joining in, resulting in stone-pelting and further unrest. Shops and motorcycles were set ablaze during the clashes. Rizwana, Isra’s granddaughter, stated the initial argument was communalized, leading to a crowd that set their shops and a motorcycle on fire. She reported that their home was also targeted with stones, causing injuries. Police are reviewing CCTV footage. An FIR has been registered, and arrests have been made. The village Sarpanch alleges that the family of Isra harbored resentment from the 2023 violence at the Nallhar temple. It’s alleged that the attack on Samey Singh was a pre-planned event, with calls from a mosque for people to gather. Arson and further clashes followed these announcements. The police have made arrests, and some suspects remain at large. The village is gripped by fear and seeks increased security, including a police post. Nuh SP Rajesh Kumar stated that a dispute between two youths around 4 pm led to a physical altercation. Police arrived at the scene, and the situation was brought under control. He reported that 3-4 people were injured and investigations are ongoing.
