South Delhi has become the scene of a tragic incident involving the daughter-in-law of renowned pan masala businessman Kamal Kishore Chaurasia. Deepti Chaurasia, aged 40, was found dead in her Vasant Vihar home on Tuesday afternoon. Police are investigating the possibility of suicide, with early indications suggesting she died by hanging.
Deepti is married to Harpreet Chaurasia, son of Kamal Kishore, the proprietor of popular brands like Kamla Pasand. According to preliminary information, her husband discovered her and immediately took her to Safdarjung Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The couple shares a 14-year-old son.
A suicide note was reportedly found within her room, which allegedly states that she absolves everyone of blame. An excerpt from the note, as reported, reads, “If there is no love and trust in a relationship, what is the point of life?” Law enforcement officials are considering whether interpersonal or family issues might have been a contributing factor to her death.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed at Safdarjung Hospital by a panel of doctors to ascertain the precise cause of death. While the family has not made a public statement, police are continuing their investigation into the unfortunate event. Kamal Kishore Chaurasia’s business has a significant presence in the pan masala market.
