
The BJP will be organizing a ‘GST Savings Festival’ across India from September 22nd to 29th. As part of the initiative, each BJP MP has been directed to conduct foot marches in the markets within their constituencies. The Prime Minister, in a recent address, discussed GST reforms, highlighting their significance in realizing the ‘One Nation, One Tax’ objective. He also mentioned the forthcoming implementation of the next generation of GST reforms.
The Prime Minister stated the GST Savings Festival would boost savings and make it more convenient for people to buy what they want. The initiative is expected to benefit a wide range of people, including the poor, middle class, youth, farmers, women, shopkeepers, traders, and entrepreneurs. The Prime Minister congratulated all the families in the country for this savings festival.
In a meeting earlier this month, the GST Council decided to rationalize tax rates, merging the 12% and 28% rates into two slabs of 5% and 18%.
