The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Central Election Committee is poised to meet on Sunday to lock in its candidates for the Bihar Assembly polls, according to sources close to the party. The meeting, scheduled for the national capital, is a crucial step in the election preparation process.
Earlier on Saturday, a significant meeting of senior National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders took place at the residence of BJP President and Union Minister JP Nadda. The gathering included Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde, Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal, and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. The primary agenda was to iron out seat distribution agreements among the coalition partners: BJP, JDU, LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM(S), and RLM.
Independently, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) conducted a central parliamentary board meeting, presided over by party chief Chirag Paswan. Party MP Shambhavi Chaudhary stated that Paswan has been authorized to finalize all decisions related to alliance and seat allocation, emphasizing that ongoing “talks are still ongoing” and describing the internal discussions as highly productive.
Meanwhile, Janata Dal (United) working president Sanjay Kumar Jha expressed unwavering confidence in the NDA’s victory and the formation of a government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on November 14, following the announcement of results for the elections scheduled on November 6 and November 11.
