
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a significant move in the Pahalgam terror attack investigation, arresting two Kashmiri locals suspected of aiding the Pakistani terrorists responsible for the deaths of 26 people. The arrests, which took place on June 22, 2025, have provided crucial leads in identifying the terrorists. Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar and Bashir Ahmad Jothar are accused of providing shelter, food, and logistical assistance to the terrorists, who were later confirmed to be affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The two men allegedly sheltered the terrorists at a seasonal hut in Hill Park before the attack. The incident, which occurred on April 22, led to the registration of case RC-02/2025/NIA/JMU, and the suspects have been apprehended under Section 19 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. The NIA is still investigating the case.
