The tragedy occurred as a large congregation of pilgrims gathered for the occasion of Ekadashi, leading to severe overcrowding and a subsequent surge. Authorities confirmed that the immense rush of people at the temple precipitated the fatal stampede. Rescue and medical teams were mobilized without delay, with the injured being admitted to hospitals for immediate care. Enhanced police presence was established to manage the aftermath.
