After a 13-year delay, the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) expressway project is receiving renewed attention. The Noida Authority and the Public Works Department (PWD) are holding new talks to overcome hurdles and move the project forward, aiming to enhance intercity connectivity. The 56-kilometer expressway includes a 23-kilometer stretch managed by Noida. Discussions have focused on updating the implementation strategy. The new Detailed Project Report (DPR) presents multiple route options for the incomplete sections, with final selection awaiting approval. A significant feature of the revised plan is a six-lane bridge across the Yamuna River, linking Noida and Faridabad. The estimated cost of the bridge is approximately Rs 200 crore, with shared funding from the governments of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, Noida is developing infrastructure, including an elevated road and two underpasses, to facilitate the FNG route. The project anticipates to serve more than 30 sectors and over 1,000 industries.
