
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spearheaded the launch of BSNL’s indigenous 4G network in Jharsuguda, Odisha, alongside inaugurating numerous development projects totaling over ₹60,000 crore. The initiatives include the expansion of eight IITs, promising educational opportunities for 10,000 new students in the coming years. He also opened a five-kilometer flyover in Sambalpur. During the address, Modi praised the advancements made by BSNL and highlighted the ‘double engine’ government’s role in Odisha’s progress. He underscored the importance of job creation and reaching every citizen. This event signifies a major leap in telecom infrastructure with the deployment of over 97,500 indigenous 4G telecom towers. This was PM Modi’s sixth visit to Odisha since BJP came into power in June 2024.
