A community awareness program, titled “Empowering Women Through Menstrual Health,” was organized in Bhubaneswar. AAYU Foundation, Ankura Hospital for Women & Children, 9M Fertility, Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Meadows, and Unicharm were the key collaborators. The event aligned with the Raja Festival, a cultural celebration in Odisha that honors women and fertility, with the aim of recognizing menstruation as a natural process. The program included an educational session on menstrual hygiene and the distribution of Sofy sanitary napkins, provided by Unicharm. This initiative aimed to promote hygiene, challenge existing taboos, and bolster the well-being of women and adolescent girls. Dr. Monalisa Naik from Ankura Hospital emphasized the need for menstrual hygiene to prevent infections and encouraged open dialogue to dispel cultural myths. Representatives from AAYU Foundation, Ankura Hospital, and the Rotary Club emphasized their commitment to community education and women’s health. The program was well-attended by women eager to learn about health. The effort reflects a successful partnership between healthcare providers, community organizations, and corporate social responsibility to provide women with safe, respectful, and supportive menstrual care.
