
In Aska, Ganjam, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi addressed a large gathering at a State-Level Youth Samavesh, laying out an economic blueprint for Odisha. The central aim is to achieve a $1.5 trillion economy by the year 2047. Majhi highlighted the pivotal role of young people in realizing this goal. He underscored the importance of their strength, skills, and determination in shaping Odisha’s future. A key element of the event was the announcement of Rs 5,500 crore worth of projects. These include significant investments in irrigation, including five specific projects, a high-level bridge to improve connectivity, and an extensive road expansion. In addition to infrastructure, Majhi focused on cultural heritage, ordering a revised DPR for the enhancement of the Maa Taratarini Temple. He also announced plans to create a world-class skill training institute in Polasara. The Chief Minister discussed the ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ initiative, which has attracted investment proposals worth Rs 17 lakh crore and is projected to generate over 13 lakh jobs. Within the first 150 days, projects worth Rs 1.8 lakh crore have already been implemented, resulting in over 1.1 lakh employment opportunities. Majhi emphasized that Odisha’s 1.7 crore youth, aged between 15 and 35, are vital to the state’s development. The government is committed to fostering their potential through education reforms, skill development, industry-integrated college programs, and targeted reservation policies.
