The Online Gaming Bill 2025 is causing a significant change in Dream11’s business strategy, leading to the closure of its Real Money Gaming (RMG) operations. This decision was revealed to Dream Sports employees on August 20, just before the Rajya Sabha approved the bill. The RMG segment is a major revenue generator, accounting for approximately 67% of the company’s annual income. Dream11 plans to concentrate on non-RMG ventures like Sportz Drip and Fancode, and to invest more in platforms like Willow TV and Cricbuzz. Expansion into foreign markets is also planned. The company may introduce new game formats tailored for international markets, following a strategy similar to that used by MPL. These changes could result in staff reductions and cost-saving measures because of the large number of Dream Sports staff dedicated to RMG.
