
On Kargil Vijay Diwas, India paid homage to the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1999 Kargil War. Tributes were offered at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras, Ladakh, by Union Ministers, Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi, and the families of the fallen. This year’s commemoration occurred amidst Operation Sindoor, a military operation initiated after the April 22nd Pahalgam terror incident, as confirmed by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed every July 26th, marks the successful culmination of Operation Vijay, a victory achieved after intense fighting in the high-altitude Kargil region. The day serves as a powerful reminder of the valor and unwavering patriotism of the Indian Armed Forces.
