Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, accused the Election Commission (EC) of election ‘theft’ on Monday. Speaking at the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Gaya, he asserted that the EC’s actions would be exposed in every state. Gandhi stated the EC is accountable for their actions. He declared that the ‘theft’ has been caught and will be brought to light across the country. He said that the entire nation will seek an affidavit from the EC. He intends to uncover the EC’s alleged malpractices in every state, Lok Sabha constituency, and Vidhan Sabha constituency. Gandhi also mentioned the EC’s actions in Bihar, comparing them to the government’s special packages. He cited irregularities in past elections. He focused on the Maharashtra elections where the EC allegedly added one crore voters between the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. He stated that while his party’s alliance won the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP alliance secured victory in the state polls, despite his party receiving the same number of votes. He stated that the BJP won the elections in Maharashtra and Haryana due to the new voters, alleging election ‘theft’.
