
A chemical factory in Palghar, Maharashtra, was the scene of a major explosion on Thursday, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. The blast occurred at the Limbani Salt Industries in JP Udyognagar during a chemical process. Four workers sustained severe injuries and were promptly transported to Dhawale Hospital for treatment. Emergency services, including police and the fire brigade, responded swiftly to the scene to manage the situation and conduct rescue operations. According to authorities, the explosion occurred while a chemical processing operation was underway at the factory, which is situated on Manor Road, Palghar. The incident involved five individuals who were working in the affected area. Deepak (38), a resident of Shiroli, tragically died at the scene. Suresh Kom (55) suffered burn injuries on his back, and Dinesh Gadag (40) sustained serious facial injuries; both are reported to be in critical condition. Laxman Mandal (60) and Santosh Tare (51) received minor injuries. The explosion created significant panic among nearby residents due to its intensity. Police and fire officials are investigating the cause of the blast, with initial assessments pointing towards a potential failure in adhering to safety standards during the chemical reaction. Local residents and worker organizations have voiced concerns about the safety protocols implemented by the company management. The investigation is ongoing to fully understand the factors that contributed to the explosion.
