The Parliament’s Monsoon Session in 2025 is witnessing a strong reaction from the INDIA bloc regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. Manickam Tagore, a Congress MP, has brought forth an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha to address issues surrounding the SIR process ahead of the Assembly elections. The opposition views the SIR as a threat to democratic processes, pointing out the potential for a substantial number of voters to be excluded. The INDIA bloc members are set to protest in Parliament, seeking a debate on SIR in both Houses, following the Election Commission’s publication of the draft electoral rolls.
