
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Japan to participate in the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit, hosted by Shigeru Ishiba. The visit is designed to enhance India’s strategic position and contribute to global peace and security. The Prime Minister, greeted by the Indian community in Tokyo, expressed his gratitude and appreciation. At the India-Japan Economic Forum, PM Modi began with a greeting in Japanese, underscoring the importance of the partnership. He pointed out Japan’s significant investments in India, spanning metro projects, manufacturing, and tech startups, totaling over $40 billion. PM Modi emphasized India’s stable political environment, economic resilience, and commitment to transparent policies. He also highlighted India’s robust economic growth, projecting its rise to the third-largest economy worldwide. A significant outcome of the summit is the agreement between India and Japan to create a joint credit mechanism to advance the adoption of clean fuel sources and a green future. PM Modi discussed India’s aggressive efforts in frontier technologies, including AI, semiconductor development, quantum computing, biotechnology, and space exploration. He described the India-Japan relationship as a catalyst for mutual success, with India providing a base for Japanese businesses to engage with the Global South. Ishiba mentioned joint projects in AI, space, and clean energy, while also stressing the significance of cultural exchanges and the role of technology in driving growth.
