The PM painted a vivid picture of the ongoing festivities, mentioning the preparation of traditional sweets and the vibrant atmosphere in local markets.
A major focus of the address was the upcoming 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Modi described Patel as one of India’s greatest leaders, deeply inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and a key figure in the independence movement. He recalled Patel’s crucial involvement in the Kheda and Borsad Satyagrahas and his administrative foresight in promoting cleanliness and good governance. The Prime Minister urged widespread participation in the ‘Run For Unity’ event scheduled for October 31st.
In a unique segment, Modi brought attention to the growing success of Indian coffee, specifically highlighting the unique quality of Koraput coffee from Odisha. He noted how coffee cultivation in the Koraput region, driven by passion, is not only producing a delicious beverage but also contributing to the local economy. The global appeal of Indian coffee was also a point of discussion.
The Prime Minister also touched upon the environmental significance of trees and plants, urging citizens to plant more trees and support the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Lastly, he acknowledged the recent success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ in restoring peace and security by eliminating Maoist threats, fostering a sense of pride among all Indians.
