A two-day workshop organized for the Members of Parliament (MPs) of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is scheduled to commence today within the Parliament complex. The workshop will begin at 11 AM and will be attended by key figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda. A key highlight of the event will be the felicitation of PM Modi for his role in GST 2.0.
The workshop agenda includes four sessions tailored for the MPs. The initial session will cover topics such as Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Swadeshi Bharat, Ease of Doing Business, and the significance of Youth Power and Employment. The second session will provide guidance on the effective use of social media by MPs. The third session will consist of discussions within the parliamentary committee groups, offering a platform for MPs to engage with various parliamentary committees from different ministries.
Emphasis will be placed on crucial aspects of an MP’s role, including the importance of parliamentary committee proceedings, preparation for Parliament sessions, understanding and applying parliamentary rules, thorough study of ministry reports, and the implications of subordinate legislation. Discussions will also cover appropriate behavior and precautions for MPs. The final session will address diverse regional areas, including maritime zones, Left Wing-affected areas, rural and urban areas, as well as the hilly and northeastern regions.
Furthermore, the workshop will provide training related to the upcoming Vice Presidential election. Topics such as the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, the TB Free India campaign, MP Sports initiatives, Tiffin meetings, and innovative strategies for parliamentary constituency engagement will be addressed. On Monday, MPs will receive comprehensive training on the Vice Presidential election, including the voting process, voting methodologies, and essential precautions.
The Vice Presidential election will witness a direct contest between CP Radhakrishnan, the candidate representing the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), and B. Sudarshan Reddy, a retired Supreme Court judge nominated by the opposition. Despite the contest, Radhakrishnan is expected to be in a favorable position due to numerical strength. The BJP anticipates that the modifications in GST will lead to reduced tax burdens for the public, thereby bolstering the economy. The BJP and its allies are optimistic that the positive public perception regarding the decrease in prices of several commodities will provide them with a boost during the Bihar assembly elections, anticipated to be held in November. The BJP workshop will encompass various sessions, featuring insights into the party’s evolution and development, as well as strategies to enhance the efficacy of the MPs.
