
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ET World Leaders Forum 2025, focusing on the global economic landscape and highlighting India’s achievements. The event featured the announcement of the first Made-in-India semiconductor chip, slated for market release by the end of 2025. Modi declared India’s capacity to redefine the global narrative, not merely focusing on small improvements but actively shaping the trajectory of progress. He pointed out the nation’s ability to influence the direction of the times. Modi reflected on the significant transformations over the past 11 years and outlined forthcoming initiatives, calling for growth in novel sectors. India is poised to achieve a major milestone, with plans to export electric vehicles to 100 countries. He stated that research and innovation are the primary drivers of India’s progress, stressing the significance of indigenous research. The government has been consistently creating policies and platforms to foster research and innovation. Despite the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, India has solidified its economic foundations, anticipating a fiscal deficit of 4.4 percent. The development of Made-in-India 6G is also progressing rapidly. Modi emphasized India’s ambitious goals, including a focus on major advancements, and noted the completion of more than 60 space missions over the past 11 years, with preparations underway for the Gaganyaan mission, which will send Indian astronauts into space.
