During the discussion on the ‘Vision Document 2047’ in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Samajwadi Party MLA Pooja Pal expressed her thanks to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She recounted her experience of losing her husband, Raju Pal, to a murder orchestrated by Atiq Ahmed and his associates. Pal credited CM Yogi for bringing her justice, particularly through the implementation of ‘zero tolerance’ policies. These policies, she said, not only helped her but also numerous other women in Prayagraj and led to the elimination of criminals such as Atiq Ahmed. Pal noted that the CM listened to her when no one else did, and that the CM had ‘buried Atiq Ahmed in the ground.’ She also stated that the entire state now looks toward the Chief Minister with faith. The murder of Raju Pal occurred just nine days after his marriage, due to political rivalry after he defeated Atiq Ahmed’s brother in the 2004 elections.
