The health of Vrindavan’s renowned spiritual leader, Premanand Maharaj Ji, is a significant concern for his vast following. For three consecutive days, the saint has been unable to partake in his daily spiritual foot pilgrimage, prompting an official announcement from the Shri Kali Kunj Ashram. The ashram confirmed that his ‘padyatra’ has been indefinitely suspended due to ongoing health issues.
Reports circulating widely point towards a diagnosis of kidney failure, indicating that both of the Maharaj’s kidneys are severely impaired. This serious condition has led to visible physical manifestations, such as swollen, red eyes and a puffy facial appearance, which have been shared via video on his official Instagram page. Millions of devotees are keenly following updates on his well-being.
It is understood that Premanand Maharaj Ji has been managing kidney-related ailments for approximately 18 years. His medical treatment, which previously involved dialysis five days a week, has now intensified to a daily schedule. Undeterred by his critical health status, the Maharaj continues to address his devotees and spiritual activities. He has personally refuted claims of being admitted to the ICU, urging his followers to dismiss fake news. Even with dietary restrictions and the demanding dialysis regimen, he upholds his disciplined schedule, waking early for prayer and conducting satsangs. His unwavering devotion and meditative practices remain a source of strength.
