In a deeply saddening event in Patiala, Punjab, a married couple died by suicide, highlighting the devastating consequences of misunderstandings and marital discord. Gurmeet Singh ended his life, believing his wife, Manpreet Kaur, had left him with their three children. However, Manpreet had already taken her own life a few days prior, reportedly struggling with ongoing marital disputes. On June 29th, she had taken the children to a Gurdwara after an argument, before disappearing. Gurmeet was later found dead, and Manpreet’s body was recovered from a canal. The incident has left their children orphaned and has deeply impacted the community. Separately, authorities in Jharkhand are investigating the deaths of a young couple found in a forest.
