Rahul Gandhi, addressing a rally in Bengaluru, Karnataka, launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission and the BJP, accusing them of engaging in electoral malpractices. He asserted that vote theft is a direct affront to the Constitution and undermines the fundamental right of every citizen to vote. Gandhi underscored the necessity of safeguarding the Constitution.
Gandhi specifically targeted the BJP, alleging that the party gained an advantage through the manipulation of voter rolls. He highlighted the Maharashtra election as an example, where the Congress-led coalition won the Lok Sabha, but the BJP subsequently won the assembly. Gandhi stated that an investigation revealed a significant increase in voter participation in the assembly elections, with a substantial number of new voters who had not voted in the Lok Sabha election.
According to Gandhi, these new voters, who did not vote in the Lok Sabha, miraculously appeared to vote in the assembly elections, and the BJP secured victories in those areas. He emphasized that his coalition’s vote share remained constant, but the increase in votes overwhelmingly favored the BJP.
Gandhi also discussed the Karnataka elections, noting that the initial polling data suggested a higher number of seats for his party than they eventually won. He stated that the Election Commission refused to provide voter lists and video recordings. He initiated an investigation in the Mahadevapura constituency, accusing the EC and the BJP of vote theft in Karnataka.
Gandhi claimed that approximately 1 lakh votes were stolen from the 6.5 lakh votes in Mahadevapura, alleging that these votes were stolen through various methods. He accused the Election Commission and the BJP of the theft.
