In response to allegations of voter manipulation and opposition concerns regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, the Election Commission will hold a press conference on Sunday, August 17th, at 3 PM in the National Media Center, Delhi. The decision to hold a press conference comes in the wake of accusations of vote theft and concerns regarding the impartiality of the electoral process, particularly from Rahul Gandhi and other opposition figures. The press conference’s subject matter remains unconfirmed, but it is anticipated to focus on the accusations against the Election Commission. The Election Commission has rarely convened formal press conferences outside of election schedule announcements, making this an uncommon event. Rahul Gandhi, a prominent figure within the opposition, has consistently accused the Election Commission of manipulating voter data. He has claimed that vote theft occurred in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Haryana to benefit the BJP.
