BJP MP Samik Bhattacharya has condemned Rahul Gandhi for what he perceives as political maneuvering over insignificant issues. Bhattacharya responded to Gandhi’s claims of being restricted from speaking in the Lok Sabha, characterizing them as a politically motivated act without substance. Bhattacharya stated that the Congress has not demonstrated its ability to be a responsible opposition. Jagdambika Pal, also a BJP MP, echoed this sentiment, saying that if Gandhi wanted to speak, the House should be allowed to function without obstruction. Pal clarified that the disruptions were caused by Congress members. The monsoon session of Parliament has been marked by opposition demands and protests centered on topics such as the Pahalgam terror attack and changes to electoral rolls in Bihar, which resulted in repeated adjournments in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
