Ahead of the crucial Bihar polls, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming the PM would be willing to ‘dance for votes.’ Speaking at a Mahagathbandhan rally in Muzaffarpur, Gandhi presented a critical view of the Prime Minister’s electoral tactics. He was joined by other opposition leaders, notably Tejashwi Yadav, the alliance’s chief ministerial nominee.
Gandhi’s speech suggested that Prime Minister Modi is prone to theatrical displays and would readily perform for votes if prompted. The BJP has swiftly condemned these accusations. Pradeep Bhandari, a BJP spokesperson, criticized Gandhi’s language, describing him as a ‘local goon.’ Bhandari argued that Gandhi’s statement was an affront to all underprivileged Indians and Biharis who support PM Modi, accusing the Congress leader of disrespecting voters and the foundations of Indian democracy. This public exchange adds another layer of intensity to the political narrative surrounding the upcoming Bihar elections, especially in light of prior BJP criticisms regarding Gandhi’s political visibility.
