Authorities at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport intercepted an 18-year-old woman from Rajasthan, preventing her from being trafficked to Oman. The rescue operation was a joint effort by the immigration department and Delhi Police. The woman’s alleged boyfriend had allegedly planned to sell her in Oman. Mohammed Islam, 35, had lured the woman online with promises of a luxurious life in Muscat, the capital of Oman. He assisted her in obtaining a passport and arranging her flight. She left her home in Churu with cash and jewelry, unbeknownst to her family. When her family reported her missing, police tracked her to the airport and, with the help of the embassy and Delhi Police, rescued her moments before her flight was due to depart.
