A historic moment unfolded in Ayodhya as Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted a saffron flag atop the revered Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, signifying the completion of its construction. The ceremony, held on Vivah Panchami, the auspicious day celebrating the divine marriage of Lord Ram and Mata Sita, was attended by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi declared that “centuries-old wounds are healing,” observing that the nation and the world are deeply engrossed in devotion to Lord Ram. He expressed that the hearts of all Ram devotees are filled with profound satisfaction and joy as a 500-year-old aspiration is finally realized.
The saffron flag, a vibrant 10×20 feet emblem, features a sun symbol representing Lord Ram’s valor, the Kovidara tree, and the sacred ‘Om’. “This dharma-dhwaj is more than just a flag; it symbolizes the re-emergence of Indian civilization,” PM Modi explained. “Its saffron hue, the Sun, ‘Om’, and Kovidara tree all echo the grandeur of Ram Rajya, symbolizing resolve, accomplishment, and the fruition of age-old dreams.”
He further elaborated on the flag’s ethical message: “It teaches us the importance of keeping promises, even at great personal cost. It promotes a world guided by duty and aspires for a society devoid of discrimination, pain, and fear, fostering universal peace and well-being.”
The spiritual complex includes dedicated temples to Mata Shabari and Nishadraj, symbolizing devotion, love, and friendship, alongside the Sapt Mandir. Statues of Jatayu and a squirrel are poignant reminders that even small efforts can lead to monumental success. The complex also honors sage figures like Mata Ahilya, Maharshi Valmiki, and Saint Tulsidas, offering a comprehensive spiritual journey.
PM Modi urged the populace to break free from mental constraints and embrace self-reliance. “Lord Ram resides in the heart of every Indian. With determination, we can shed our mental shackles and realize the vision of a developed India by 2047,” he stated, advocating for a departure from colonial mindsets.
Ayodhya is undergoing a significant metamorphosis, merging its timeless traditions with modern development. “The ongoing beautification of Ayodhya will result in a city where tradition and modernity coexist seamlessly, with the Saryu River as a backdrop to progress.” Post-consecration, the temple has welcomed over 45 crore visitors, significantly boosting local prosperity. Modern Ayodhya is poised to become a global benchmark for urban development, preserving its sacred essence.
Describing the flag hoisting as the culmination of a 500-year spiritual undertaking, PM Modi said, “Ancient wounds are being mended, and a 500-year-old vow is being fulfilled. This marks the end of a prolonged yajna and the dawn of a new era of cultural pride and spiritual awakening.”
Reflecting on Lord Ram’s core values, PM Modi highlighted, “Lord Ram connects through devotion, not lineage. He values righteousness above all, cooperation over brute force, and virtue over material wealth. These principles guide our collective progress today.” Ayodhya is set to emerge as a global source of inspiration, harmonizing ethical values with contemporary advancement.
