The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its affiliated organizations are holding a three-day All India Coordination Meeting in Jodhpur, beginning Friday. This gathering of senior officials is set to deliberate on a range of critical subjects, including the upcoming centenary celebrations of the RSS, the ‘Panch Parivartan’ initiative, the evolving National Education Policy, strategies for development in tribal areas, and the implications of population imbalances.
The meeting commenced with a shared recitation of the organization’s mantra, and RSS leaders Mohan Bhagwat and Dattatreya Hosabale offered floral tributes before an image of Bharat Mata. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, also participated, meeting with several senior officials before returning to Jaipur.
The event sees the participation of roughly 320 leading officials from 32 organizations associated with the RSS. The three-day agenda (September 5-7) will facilitate the exchange of experiences and progress made over the past year. Discussions will cover the Panch Parivartan, encompassing social harmony, environmental sustainability, family awareness, self-reliance, and civic responsibility, in addition to the upcoming RSS centenary celebrations and the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.
During the first day, organizations linked to the RSS presented their latest initiatives and facilitated discussions to improve coordination between various groups.
The venue has been decorated with a special emphasis on the entrances. The Rani Abbakka gate has been constructed to commemorate Indian women’s resistance against colonial and Mughal forces, dating back 500 years. The Haldighati gate is also prepared, and the auditorium displays rangolis depicting Meera Bai and Amrita Devi, who sacrificed their lives for environmental protection.
The coordination meeting will delve into the year’s accomplishments and experiences while promoting the core principles of the RSS, such as Panch Parivartan, social harmony, family consciousness, environmentally friendly practices, self-sufficiency, and civic duty. The agenda will also include an evaluation of the centenary celebrations and the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.
Shanta Akka, the chief operator of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, highlighted that the different RSS organizations are contributing to nation-building, which would be a topic of discussion.
Notably, the presence of BJP leaders from the Rajasthan unit appears to be more frequent in this meeting compared to past RSS coordination events. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje met with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for 25 minutes two days before the meeting. BJP Rajasthan state president Madan Rathore also attended on the day the meeting began, remaining for approximately 3 hours.
Following Rathore, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was present for more than two and a half hours. Sources suggest the Chief Minister and the state president’s presence was mainly formal, with no specific meetings with RSS chief Bhagwat.
Sunil Ambekar, the RSS publicity head, addressed questions about potential discussions regarding the BJP president, stating that the party leadership is autonomous in its decision-making.
Alongside the Sarsanghchalak and Sarkaryawah, all six Sahsarkaryawahs were in attendance. The meeting also saw the participation of prominent figures like BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, BL Santosh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad President Alok Kumar, Milind Parande, and key representatives from the Rashtra Sevika Samiti and various other organizations. Additional attendees included leaders from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Saksham, the Ex-Servicemen Service Council, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, and Seema Jagran Manch.
