
Both Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh are bracing for significant rainfall, with a warning issued for heavy rain and hail. A red alert is in effect for Uttarakhand, particularly in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, and Haridwar, where the weather forecast predicts extremely heavy rain. An orange alert has been issued for September 2nd, anticipating very heavy to heavy rain in several districts. The forecast indicates heavy showers across many areas of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in 15 districts and warnings for 29 others. Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected in several areas. Schools in a number of districts, including Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, and Champawat, have been closed. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken steps to address the situation, emphasizing the need to ensure public safety. Tragically, two individuals, including a woman, died in Tehri district on Sunday due to the heavy rain. Uttar Pradesh is also under a high rain forecast, with numerous districts affected. The IMD projects that Uttar Pradesh will receive above-average rainfall in September. Lucknow experienced substantially higher rainfall in August, and the forecast indicates a possibility of normal or above-normal rainfall in the central areas of the state, including the capital, during September.
