
Sonipat’s Crime Branch Sector 7, part of the Anti-Gangster Unit, arrested Ravi alias Lamba, a wanted criminal, following a shootout. The incident occurred on Friday night on the Barona bypass of Kharkhoda. Ravi was injured in the leg during the encounter and received immediate medical attention at CHC Kharkhoda. A total reward of Rs 45,000 was placed on his capture by both Delhi and Haryana Police. The arrest is connected to FIR No. 525, dated September 16, 2024, which includes charges under the BNS and Arms Act. Ravi was on the run after breaking parole. During the arrest, a 32-bore pistol and a motorcycle were confiscated. Ravi is linked to approximately 18 serious criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, and robbery. He was also sought in connection with the murder of Brijesh, the brother of gangster Ravi Munia, in Barona village. Investigations have shown his association with the Rajesh Bawana gang, where he was involved in intimidation and extortion. The Haryana Police had offered a reward of Rs 20,000, while the Delhi Police had offered Rs 25,000. Senior Sonipat police officials arrived at the scene promptly to assess the situation. Ravi is currently under guard at the hospital while being interrogated. Police are actively investigating Ravi’s network and other potential criminal activities, intending to present him in court and seek remand to gather further information.
