The central government has introduced a FASTag annual pass to make highway travel easier for private vehicle owners and streamline toll payments. This pass uses RFID technology, automatically deducting tolls from a prepaid account linked to the vehicle, saving drivers the trouble of constant recharges. The annual pass is designed specifically for non-commercial private vehicles, such as cars, jeeps, and vans. It offers uninterrupted travel on National Highways and National Expressways without the need for paying at each toll plaza. This annual pass is exclusively applicable at toll plazas on National Highways and Expressways; standard FASTag charges are applicable elsewhere. To purchase, visit the Rajmarg Yatra app or the NHAI/MoRTH website, login with vehicle number and FASTag ID. Ensure your FASTag is active and linked to the vehicle, and make the Rs 3000 payment. The pass will then be connected to your existing FASTag. The pass is available to vehicle owners whose FASTag is linked to the Vehicle Registration Number (VRN). If your FASTag is only linked to the chassis number, updating your VRN and mobile number is necessary. Existing FASTag users with updated KYC can activate the pass on their existing tag. Note that the pass is non-transferable and attempting to transfer it can lead to FASTag blacklisting. Vehicles with incomplete VRN or mobile number details must update their information before using the pass.
