A devastating accident in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, has claimed the life of an 18-month-old girl. The child, whose father is a chaat vendor, died on Saturday night from severe burns sustained after falling into a vessel of boiling ‘chhole’ at their home in the Duddhi area. This heartbreaking event echoes a previous tragedy, where the girl’s elder sister died in a similar incident involving boiling ‘dal’ two years ago. After the family cremated the child, the police began an investigation and confirmed that it was accidental. According to the father, Shailendra, his wife was preparing ingredients for ‘golgappa’ and had stepped away momentarily. During that time, the daughter, Priya, fell into the boiling pot. Despite her mother’s immediate response and subsequent medical attention, the girl’s injuries proved fatal at the district hospital.
